10 Days Ultimate Uganda Wildlife Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport

After giving you a quick overview of your 10 Days Ultimate Uganda Wildlife Safari, a World Africa Journeys driver guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you a hotel booked for you so you can unwind before your next day’s activities.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, resume your 10 Days Ultimate Uganda Wildlife Safari. En route, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to observe the endangered white rhinos that are being restocked there. Then proceed to Masindi for lunch before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise

Start your day with a cup of African coffee before going on a morning game watching safari in Murchison Falls, which is home to more than 76 animal species and 451 bird species. While on a morning game drive, you could witness animals like buffalo, lions, elephants, giraffes, kobs, hyenas, bushbucks, warthogs, and leopards, among others. You can see the Big 4 there because it is the largest and oldest National Park in the nation. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch before setting off on a boat trip down the River Nile.

As additional herds of buffalo, crocodiles, hippos, water bird species, and other wild creatures congregate at the River Nile to drink water in the afternoon, you will go on a boat ride to get a clearer glimpse of the beasts cruising on Albertine waters. Continue upstream to the base of the falls to see how water is forced through a tight gorge. From here, you can take a 1-hour walk to the top of the Murchison waterfalls, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the falls, rocks, vegetation, and resident rainy-bow water birds, among other things. At the summit, you will meet your driving guide, who will then take you back to the resort.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

After breakfast, you will go off on a lengthier trip to Kibale National Park, stopping sometimes for lunch and observing various bird species along the route.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Kanyakyu Visitor Centre, the main office of the Kibale National Park, where you will meet up with the other trekkers for an orientation and eventual chimpanzee trekking. In Kibale Forest National Park, your game ranger guide will lead you on a guided primate walk. In this forest, visitors get the chance to go to one of the chimpanzees’ habituated groups or parts and spend an hour there watching and taking pictures. Along with forest birds, Kibale National Park is home to another 13 species of primates.

Visit Bigodi Wetland Village following lunch for a wetland stroll that will help the neighbourhood around Kibale Forest National Park. You will get the chance to witness a variety of birds, butterflies, and other flora and animals on your trip. View a variety of insects and birds.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will start your approximately three-hour trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast. You will get the chance to go through tiny villages, take in a number of the Mountain Rwenzori’s foothills, view a number of the Rwenzori mountain ranges’ minor rivers, and cross the equator at Kikorongo in Kasese. After lunch, go on an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is home to elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, and many other wild creatures.

Day 7: Game Drive – Boat Cruise along Kazinga Channel

After a cup of coffee in the morning, you will return to Kasenyi Plains for a game drive to make up for whatever you might have missed on your first game drive. You will have the opportunity to see the big cats searching for their food during this early morning game drive, which increases your chances of seeing lions or leopards. Other mammals you may see on this game drive include buffalo, hippos, several types of antelope, and many others. Breakfast and lunch should be taken at the lodge. An afternoon boat excursion around the Kazinga Channel. One of the delights of Queen Elizabeth National Park is this two-hour boat ride. While on a boat tour, you may witness crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and over 300 different species of birds sitting on trees along the Channel’s borders.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in the Kabale area of southwest Uganda after breakfast. Nearly half of the critically endangered mountain gorillas in the world live in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is also the only national park where mountain gorillas and wild chimpanzees coexist. You will pass through the Ishasha sector, often known as the “tree climbing Lion area,” on your way to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Afterward, you will continue through the undulating hills with terraced gardens of Irish potatoes and the Kayonza tea estate.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking – Village Walk

You will be brought to the Park headquarters after breakfast for a training on the dos and don’ts while interacting with gorillas. You will then be escorted to the starting location of the gorilla family you have been assigned to in order to begin your journey through the forbidding Bwindi Forest. Depending on the location of the mountain gorillas, this trip might take anything from 40 minutes to three quarters of a day. Meaning that going in search of gorillas might be physically demanding, therefore some level of fitness is needed. The experience will be worthwhile after you locate the gorillas, and you will be given an hour to observe and take pictures. Returning to the park’s main office, you will get a certificate commending you for your efforts in preserving the critically endangered mountain gorillas. After unwinding at the lodge, go on a village stroll to discover more about the locals who live close to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 10: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport – Departure.
